Preserving and protecting the memories and narratives of the peoples of Utah: past, present, and future
Efforts Values and Focuses
Monuments tell the future what happened in the past. Ensuring that diverse populations are represented in monuments teaches the future who we are more honestly and respectably.
We seek to bring our community together on important days as a way of honoring our leaders in peace and justice from the past.
We use and promote intellectually honesty and rigorous intensive research to ensure that we are best able to carry forward the lessons of the past. We also remain committed to as much time as it takes to find primary sources for all our research, looking at original documentation to the painstakingly fullest extent possible.
We believe in using ranges of media and communication to engage with as many people and communities as we can who have an interest here in our unique cultural history and expressions.
